Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are married for 24 years and they have a unique love story. The two met on Broadway in 1991, but it took Matthew Broderick one year to ask Parker out on a date. Since then, they do everything together, as Sarah has said in an interview. She joked about them sleeping together, eating together, and working together as well.
They got married in 1997 and welcomed their first child, James Wilkie, a few years later, in 2002. In 2009, they became parents again via surrogate, welcoming twin girls, Marion and Tabitha.
While Carrie Bradshaw from ‘Sex and the City’ loved her single life, real-life Sarah Parker loves being able to share everything with her husband. They’ve been together for almost 30 years now, but Sarah believes relationships are hard work.
“Relationships are hard. I always felt that I wanted to invest more. I love him, and I think he’s brilliant. I’m sure I annoy him. He annoys me sometimes. I’m enormously proud of the person he is. I think the longer you can last, the more invested you just are,” she said during a 2016 episode of Sophia Amoruso’s “Girlboss Radio” podcast.
But no matter how busy they are with their careers, they always prioritized spending time together and had regular date nights. Even though they’re very private people, the two said they’re best friends beyond everything else and talk about everything.
