11. Nebraska

Sadly, Nebraska is still one of the states that haven’t managed to contain the virus, and as recent reports have shown, COVID-19 cases are spiking in this state. At the moment, Nebraska has a positive test rate of 11.2 percent, being ranked as very concerning.
Moreover, Nebraska also has a high infection rate (1.12) and a high daily new case rate with 19.9 cases per 100,000 residents. The state currently has 45,044 COVID-19 cases, with more than 2,900 new cases recorded in the past week, as The New York Times reports.

10. Missouri

Missouri is also one of the states that are currently in trouble, with a positive test rate of 11.6 percent. According to Covid Act Now, what’s even more disturbing is that Missouri recorded 24.9 COVID-19 cases per day per 100,000 residents, and I won’t lie to you, those numbers are indeed very concerning.

According to the Harvard Global Health Institute, a state is ranked as being at the “red” risk level if it has 25 or more new cases of coronavirus per day. They also stated that the states who are now seeing such troubling numbers must implement stay-at-home orders to put a stop on the spread of the virus.

At the moment, 128,000 COVID-19 cases are registered in the state, with more than 10,385 new cases recorded over the last seven days. Also, more than 2,100 people have died from COVID-19.

9. Florida

Florida was one of America’s hotspots and was also one of the states that had it pretty rough, alongside other states like Arizona and Texas. Even though the situation moved in the right direction for a while, things seem to be pretty critical right now.

The state’s current positive rate is 11.8 percent with a daily new case rate of 13.1 cases per 100,000 residents. Florida registered more than 704,568 COVID-19 cases, with 19,760 in the last seven days.
