Girl Scout cookies
If you’re not from America, you’ve probably seen this in movies, when girl scouts go from door to door trying to sell cookies and raise money for different causes. Well, everything started as a local fundraiser in Oklahoma more than 100 years ago.
Since then, it became a nationally organized sale held every year across the United States, to raise money for the Girl Scouts of the USA. Yearly, these girls sell more than $800 million worth of cookies, which is more than 200 million boxes. Amazing, right?
Additionally, Girl Scout cookies are not common outside the United States, even though GSUSA is part of an international organization. Therefore, Girl Scouts cookies can be a great gift if you’re visiting someone who doesn’t live in America. They’ll certainly love it.
