The Cannibal Disease (Wendigo)
We all know those weird tribes that eat their friends (or enemies) for dinner. But what if your partner tries to literally eat you out, assuming he or she isn’t a zombie?
Wendigo is a rare mental illness that makes people crave human flesh pretty much like a hungry lion would do. It is most likely to occur among the Northern Algonquin region, although there were a few cases in other areas of the globe too.
SYMPTOMS: Fever during winter often accompanied by vomiting and nausea. After a short while, things get pretty clear: the patient realizes he’s a Wendigo and the only thing he craves is human flesh. This is why, usually, these people lose a lot of weight, as they refuse to eat anything else. Most of the times, Wendigo patients want to commit suicide to avoid hurting others.
What probably sounds like turning into a werewolf is actually a real, incredibly rare disorder. The first case was recorded way back in 1722.
