10. Underwater Forest – Lake Kaindy, Kazakhstan
Part of the 1,300 ft (400 m) long Lake Kaindy in Kazakhstan’s portion of the Tian Shan Mountains, the forest is located 80 miles (129 km) from the city of Almaty. It is actually a sunken forest that was formed after an enormous limestone landslide due to an earthquake in 1911.
