It may not be something we are willing to admit out loud, but transgender actors are quite fascinating. It may be because the rest of us who are comfortable and identify with the gender we have been assigned at birth don’t know what it’s like to not be comfortable in our own skin. But it can also be because we want to learn more about them. Yet, with how progressive society is these days, there has been a rise in the roles and storylines that deal with transgender stories and roles.
Thus, we want to know more about the actors that are transgender and how they are changing the industry. Notorious for how hard it is for anyone to break into, Hollywood served us a pleasant surprise with how it’s slowly opening its eyes to more than just the general stereotypes and tropes: both for movies and for actors. To celebrate that, we have made a list of some of the most well known transgender actors and how they are slowly changing the TV industry for the better.
