57 Years! George III and Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz
This pair were married for a long time, which is even more impressive when you take into consideration that their marriage happened in the 18th century! George III was appointed king, and since he was still young (he was only 22 years old when he ascended to the throne), he was unmarried. The court was quick to decide that Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, from a small German dukedom, was a perfect match.
A few months later, in 1761, the two were married and the Princess became Queen. Together, they bought and renovated a lot of residences, including what is now known as Buckingham Palace. They also had 13 surviving heirs, and when the king eventually went mad and was succeeded by his son, Queen Charlotte, stood by his side until he died. It seems like, despite being an arranged marriage, the two have found something special.
Moreover, the pair may be familiar to you, as they served as inspiration for the Netflix series “Bridgerton,” where they were fictionalized.

They’re also Greece’s last rulers, as in 1973 the monarchy was abolished. Back in 1959, the two met, and soon their friendship blossomed into something more. Due to their age difference and how young they were, their engagement was kept secret. However, in January 1963, they announced that they were engaged. And two years later, they tied the knot, after Anne-Marie turned 18.
That was also the year when they became the ruling monarchs, as they married after Constantine’s dad, King Paul, died. The two have been married ever since, and are still going strong. Together, they have five children, all aged between 35 and 56 years old.
