It is impossible not to know who Jack Lemmon was, as his repertoire includes more than 50 films (the most well known being Some like it hot and The Odd Couple) and he has been nominated by the Academy Awards an impressive 8 times, scoring even two wins! The man is a film legend and it seems like he, or his family, wanted him to be remembered as what he was: first and foremost an actor dedicated to his craft. That’s why his tombstone does not have the years he was alive engraved (1925-2001), but rather his name and one other word: “in”.
Despite it being a very good joke, it does fall into the dark humor category. After all, if people are really that curious they can google the years themselves. It did make us chuckle though!
Great, humor.
This is the best, In my opinion, must be a genius.
The funniest I have seen is at the Tombstone Cemetery, in Tombstone AZ. It goes something like this:
“Here lies Les Moore. Cut down from two slugs from a .44. No Les, no more”
It really reads: Here lies Lester Moore , 4 slugs from a .44 No Les, no more
Why not, “The farts are now buried”?
Now this is a good one.
love this one..lol
You need new material.
where are they ?????
I grew up watching Looney Tunes and, therefore, listening to the master’s wonderful work. All I can say about his epitaph is that it could not be any more appropriate! 😁
These are all very funny but the funniest one I ever saw was Rodney Dangerfield’s stone. He is buried in the same cemetery as Jack Lemmon and Merv Griffin but his says, “There goes the neighborhood.”
Well Shit, THAT didn’t work !
Merv was never the host of Jeopardy!. Art Fleming hosted from 1964 to 1979; Alex Trebek hosted the revival from 1984 to 2020; and then Ken Jennings followed a group of host wannabes to take the reins of the show in the early 2020’s.
