11. Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres
Their first encounter was at a party in 2000, but Portia de Rossi was not out as a gay woman at that time. However, she told in an interview with Oprah in 2009 that she felt an ‘immediate draw’ to the television host. It was love at first sight, some would say, even though it took her three years to reach out to DeGeneres.
They met again in 2004 at an event, and a year later, they publicly announced their relationship on the red carpet, after de Rossi came out in the same year. Also, DeGeneres also told in an interview that being with Portia changed her life, and she knew for the first time that she’s going to be with this woman forever.
The two got married in 2008 after the Supreme Court of California legalized same-sex marriages and they’re together ever since. A few years later, there were rumors that they were having marital issues, but DeGeneres denied them and said they only fight about who loves who more.
Portia and Ellen celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in 2018, and we expect to see them together on their 20-year anniversary as well.
