More about voting

As I’ve previously mentioned, voting is our democratic right and duty, and while it’s so important to express your vote and sustain a fair democracy, many Americans prefer not to take part in the U.S. elections because they fear contracting the coronavirus. A recent survey has shown that white people are more likely to vote in the presidential election this year, compared to Black, Latin, Asian and American people.

The explanation would be that Black, Latin, and Asian people are more likely to suffer from several health conditions. Additionally, they’re also less likely to benefit from proper healthcare and assistance.

Nevertheless, those who already have preexisting health conditions are less likely to vote compared who those who are healthy. While it is still unclear why, researchers believe that’s because those who have preexisting health conditions are also more likely to self-isolate, which can make them lack motivation to participate in the U.S. presidential election this year.
