Joe Biden mentioned in a 2008 interview with Katie Couric that he’s a huge fan of the 1981 historical sports drama. He loves that movie so much because it puts personal fame and glory behind principles, which he believes is the mark of real heroism, and not a lot of people would be able to do that.
He also said that his favorite scene from the Chariots of Fire movie is the one where one of the main characters refuses to race on a Sunday because of his personal religious beliefs.

Joe Biden is not a Catholic. He believes in abortion. I don’t think he should be allowed in the Catholic Church or receive Holy Communion. However, the immigrants come in and get a nice place to live and food to eat while our poor people are living on the streets and have nothing to eat.
