Paper plates

Even though paper plates are not generally the most economical purchase because they are made for one use, sometimes you just can’t possibly imagine to wash any more dishes. The price point is what makes Aldi’s paper plates so appealing to those lazy situations. Some price comparisons have even found that Aldi ‘s prices rival Walmart’s. Plus, Aldi’s paper plates are often also found in the red hot deals section.

The idea of saving money will not get canned with our next item…..

I don’t like their store since they remodeled it and change the arrangement. They also quit handling noodles. They had the most wonderful German noodles. I can’t even buy many of the things I used to buy. Also no oysters at Thanksgiving time. Their prices also have increased. Don’t shop there anymore.

Don’t like produce and fruits and vegetables at front of store, always a traffic jam trying to get into store.
      Why ?????????

Since it is supposed to be German, why can’t I ever find items like Marzipan, sour cherries ( juice or canned ) Vanilla sauce, German Cervelate or Leberwurst, etc ?

Their items are seasonal. When it’s “German” week you can find those items and also around Christmas time.

You should understand the low prices are due to them carrying 90% private label merchandise and having a minimum selection. where as in another store you might have 5 brands of margarine here you will not. 4 brands of bacon but not here etc. Selection is very limited. Meat, chicken and fish are no different one brand for all.

Our stores here do sell German fare. I believe they sell several items in October that are German, including the best sour cherries you ever tasted. These are in glass jars, not steel cans. There whole wheat round snack crackers put Ritz brand to shame. I just wish they would continue to sell the frozen onion rings.

I love Aldi-since I’ve been shopping there I have saved $$ and tried different items that we all have likes. Their meat prices are lower and they are the same name brand as in the other markets. Have told all my friends and now they love it too.

Years ago Aldis stopped having the dark pumpernickel bread. I’m very disappointed. No even for holidays. The coffee has changed. I enjoyed getting special flavored ones around holidays and that stopped also.
The egg prices sky rocketed and got smaller . I can get them cheaper at giant eagle.

Originally from PA Dutch country, I’ve lived 30 yrs in So. Cal fattening on “Hispanic cuisine” (mostly fast food, no matter if ordered in a “fancy” restaurant, most of it swimming in lard. Some call us the land of “fruits & nuts,” but to me, it’s the land of taco & pizza palaces, & fake nail bars. You can’t pass a corner without seeing one or all). I nearly cried when we got an Aldi in our small (growing) inland town & found many German foods. Someone already said it—they are mostly in the jarred section. That said, Aldi canned soups are the best. Tastes “homemade” & a blessing for someone who packs a lunch for work everyday, esp. for a warm, filling meal on those days when you need that sort of comfort. Christmas feels more like home to me now b/c of the seasonal foods Aldi carries. I know they don’t carry all the things I miss….but living where I do, Aldi putting in a store here was huge for me.

you like multi-brands selection at twice the cost then keep shopping and paying more else where. If you want good products that are equil to those over priced items we had to except for decades then do as i do and build your meals around Aldi’s specials.

In Jupiter, Florida we have switched from Publix to Aldi when they came to town within the last year. On our weekly food shopping we save at least $50 or more from what we used to spend at Publix. The quality is excellent and in many cases better. They have a great selection of meats and fish including grass fed beef and wild grown fish and shell fish at crazy prices. The $2500 to $3000 savings a year is real and great now with the high inflation !

Aldi has been our main food buying source for several years & we’ve never been disappointed with any of their products, even some ‘snobs’ we told about Aldi’s were won over by the quality & low prices. Our first purchase was jasmine rice, which at that time was pricey, but so good we bought it anyway. The price dropped a lot since, but the great flavor & texture remains. So we began buying fresh produce & milk there & now very seldom go to other grocery stores.

I want self-checkouts! I go to the store to buy 6 or 8 things and end up in line behind carts loaded to the top with hundreds of dollars’ of purchases. At a regular grocery store with self-checkouts I can get done and be out in a minute. It’s no big deal to scan items and drop them into the bag or cart again.

Don’t forget beer and eggs. Their premium beers are high quality and cheaper than their counterparts in Walmart.

Been shopping at Aldi’s for years & have never been dissatisfied with any product; their jasmine rice (the kind we prefer), is excellent, prices very reasonable, checkers courteous & fast. Their store brand is as good or better than name brands also. We save money by shopping there & time by not having to clip coupons. Paying cash isn’t a problem either, in fact it’s more efficient, & eliminates ‘impulse’ buying.

I don’t buy canned goods here as they’re labels are dull and unimaginative. They might possibly have the same ingredients in them as Kroger or Albertsons but they aren’t appealing at all. Plus my Aldi doesn’t seem to have much of a selection.

I love shopping at Aldi’s. I love saving time and especially $$$.
I first get the wine, then the chocolate, next is produce, always cheese and other dairy products, lastly the baking section. Check out the various sauces where one only adds meat. One never knows what might be offered at different seasons in the frozen cases. German week is always a treat. They have good prices on salmon, too. Don’t forget the aisle with the various fun items for grans or your home.

I’m not particularly happy with Aldi’s milk prices. It seems that they jumped on the bandwagon once all others raised their prices, not that they had to but lets face it, going from just under $2.00/gal. to over $3.00/gal. shows me that they raised prices on milk just for profit, not because they had to keep up with the Kroger’s, Piggly wiggly, etc. Because of the high unnecessary prices on milk I have greatly reduced my other shopping at Aldi’s. Good going money grabbers.
