One day after the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) announced that the Jenssen vaccine can be administered once again to adults, Gov. Gavin Newsom also announced on Twitter that California will start administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine once again.

Newsom also mentioned that he was one of those 6.8 million Americans that have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine before the 11-day pause, and he urges people to do the same and get vaccinated as soon as possible.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Colorado Joint Vaccine Task Force also announced on April 23 that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be available in the state once again, urging vaccine providers to start using it again immediately.

As Eric France, MD, CDPHE chief medical officer, said in a statement, it’s good news for everyone that this one-dose vaccine can be used again in our country.
“We appreciate the caution the CDC and FDA took to evaluate the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and are ready to ramp back up distribution as quickly as possible,” he added.
