Some chains such as Giant and Kroger allow customers to purchase a limited amount of certain products including toilet paper, tissue paper, and disinfecting products at one trip to the store. According to Delia Garcia, a spokesperson for Walmart, the company hasn’t implemented such limitations yet, but store managers have the ability to “implement item limits based on their specific store experience to help sustain product availability.”
According to IRI, more than 16 percent of cleaning products were out of stock as of November 15th compared to the usual 5 percent, so they could start implementing limitations if these items continue to sell this fast.
