Try to stop when you want to purchase new items and consider cheaper alternatives (and more eco-friendly) and antique pieces instead. Visit the Thrift shops when you’re hunting for new trends. There are a number of online alternatives to your local thrift store (Poshmark and ThreadUp are two common ones). Vintage items— those 25 years of age or older— are especially great for special events and statement pieces. They ‘re the easiest to score at local vintage stores or online on specialized sites such as the Etsy vintage section.
