25. Sharks can live for five centuries.

Greenland Sharks are considered to be one of the oldest living species in the world. Researchers did carbon dating on the Greenland Shark that was captured in 2014 and found to be around 392 years old. Further testing showed that our fishy friends could be up to 500 years old. Indeed, this would mean that our geriatric friends were alive when Leonardo Da Vinci painted “Mona Lisa.”

26. There’s an entire town under a rock.

If you’ve ever been accused of “living under a rock,” you’ll feel more at home in Setenil de Las Bodegas, Spain. Most of the 3,000 inhabitants of this tiny town live and work and play in a gorge beneath a massive rocky outcrop, where the houses are built right into the rock. This offers so much protection that historians conclude that this area has been inhabited by human settlements since the Stone Age.
