“Pancakes”
Oh, who doesn’t love pancakes? Even if this allergy is real as well, that doesn’t mean you should stop eating pancakes on Sunday morning just yet, unless you’re allergic to one of the ingredients in the batter, of course.
However, this type of allergy is not caused by pancakes themselves, but rather by dust mites, and allergists like to call it the ‘Pancake Syndrome’. As Dr. Lavi has explained, “Pancake mixes and other powdery ingredients that sit in boxes in the pantry can get contaminated by dust mites. Then you essentially eat a whole meal of dust mites and breakfast in bed becomes breakfast in the ER.”
