Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
Gabrielle Union, 47, and Dwyane Wade, 38, met in 2007. At that time, the actress was recently divorced so there wasn’t a lot of interaction between them that night. In fact, years later, Gabrielle told Glamour that she wasn’t very thrilled about her husband’s résumé.
According to the actress, Dwayne was an athlete, going through a divorce as well, and 9 years younger which appeared to be a big issue. She didn’t see him as a potential partner for a serious relationship. In 2010, there were a lot of speculations about the two being a couple, even though they didn’t confirm anything at that time.
Gabrielle and the former NBA player confirmed their relationship in 2012 when they appeared on the Essence magazine cover together. They broke up temporarily in 2013, because of distance and scheduling, the actress told Glamour. However, later that year, Gabrielle and Dwayne got engaged, and a year later, they got married.
Their marriage wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, but their love for each other is very strong and real. The actress revealed in 2017 that she went through eight miscarriages and had a lot of problems with fertility.
In 2018, the couple welcomed their first child, Kaavia, via surrogate but they also have three more children from Wade’s previous marriage, Zaire, Zaya, and Xavier.
