There will always be people to believe even in the craziest conspiracy theories out there, including the one that says that Megan Markle is a robot. And even now, with the coronavirus pandemic that hit the world last year, it isn’t all about vaccines, restrictions, face masks, infections, and healthcare professionals.

In fact, COVID-19 had paved the way to some of the bizarre conspiracy theories out there: 5G has caused the coronavirus pandemic. And even though it might seem like a joke to some people, there are also those who really believe this theory.

As many psychologists have explained, people’s sense of certainty is often enhanced by feedback, rather than hard evidence, this is why a lot of people choose to believe even the craziest things.
As data from a study conducted at the University of California, Berkeley, published in the journal Open Mind has shown, people tend to have a more powerful reaction to both the positive and the negative reactions they get in response to their actions, than they have by hard evidence and logic.

As Louis Marti, the author of the study has explained, “if you think you know a lot about something, even though you don’t, you’re less likely to be curious enough to explore the topic further, and will fail to learn how little you know.”

“This cognitive dynamic can play out in all walks of actual and virtual life, including social media and cable-news echo chambers, and may explain why some people are easily duped by charlatans,” says Berkeley News.
