If you rely on Google Translate for any and every language based query, you need to re-think. ‘As Pones’, a small town in the north-western region of Spain holds a vegetable festival every month, celebrating leafy rapini or grelo.
Like every year, the town posted its announcement with details online and put the Galician text in Google Translate for the Castilian Spanish version of the text. The online translation changed “Feria do grelo” or “rapini festival” into “Feria clitoris” or “Clitoris festival.”
Google apparently mistook the Spanish word, ‘grelo’ to be the Portugese ‘grelo’, which meant clitoris, in an old archaic slang. The authorities are red faced as the blunder has been online for a few months now. Thankfully, nobody took offence.

I’d love to buy a copy of this pic.
