16 Shots takes a look at the 2014 shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald by police officer Jason Van Dyke in Chicago and the cover-up that proceeded. Journalists and activists struggled to get their hands-on video after the police said the killing was justified. Political and cultural implications followed and eventually led to a guilty verdict against Van Dyke.
