Shaking hands, hugging a friend, kissing a cheek
As Dr Fauci suggests, the handshake as a greeting might be a thing of the past, however, so might hugging or even the continental greeting of kissing on the cheek. Although people have a tendency to turn their faces away while hugging there is still a risk because of close contact.
So what will be the new norm? The elbow bump seems to be used more and more often nowadays or perhaps waving from a distance? The way we greet each other has remained the same for millennia, so this might be a hard habit to break, but the alternative in this new coronavirus world doesn’t bear thinking about.
