Depp spoke about Elton John, who tried to get him sober
Depp was asked by Amber Heard’s lawyer if “Elton John was one of those friends who was trying to help you get sober”, to which Depp said he was. The lawyer proceeded by asking Depp if he sent the singer a message in 2012 where he thanked him for his help and said “I would have been completely swallowed up by the monster if it weren’t for you.
That is a simple fact.” Depp confirmed that he sent that message and he added that the monster he was referring to was alcohol and substances.
