Kentucky will also give $400 per week to its unemployed residence through the FEMA Lost Wages Assistance program for COVID-19.
“The program will allow Kentuckians receiving unemployment benefits for the weeks of July 26 to August 15–that’s what we’re starting with–to receive additional payments of $400 if they’re unemployed or partially unemployed as a result of the COVID pandemic,” Governor Andy Beshear said in a statement. “The $400 will apply to all programs…traditional U.I., the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program, and extended benefits programs.”
“Benefits recipients should not expect the payments until sometime in early September,” Beshaer added. Additionally, people will receive the $400 extra cash for a period of three weeks, with the possibility of extending it after, according to The Courier-Journal.
