Professor Sharon Peacock believes the U.K. stain will ‘travel’ the world.
Peacock shared during an interview for BBC’s Newcast podcast on February 10 the new U.K. variant, known as B.1.1.7. has already ‘traveled’ in many other countries, adding that it became dominant in England.
In fact, she added that “It’s going to sweep the world, in all probability.” As data from the New York Times has shown, the U.K. strain has already been discovered in more than 70 countries all over the globe, and Peacock believes this is just the beginning.
