More than 1000 cases of the B.1.1.7. have been discovered in the United States until now, in 37 states. A recent study made by the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, has discovered that the number of infections with the new U.K. variant is doubling every 10 days. As previously mentioned, the new virus mutation is far more transmissible than the original one, which makes it much easier to spread among the population.
