Long after testing positive for COVID-19, some people are still dealing with anosmia and ageusia, also known as loss of smell and taste. While these symptoms are known to be the most common indicators for coronavirus infection, it seems like they can be very persistent in some cases.
The same study previously mentioned, conducted at the University of Washington, found out that 13.6 percent of participants experienced the loss of smell and taste for months after the infection, which is definitely not a pleasant experience.
