The small hand-cranked ice cream maker was invented by Nancy Johnson in the 1840s and got a patent for it in 1843.
There are many people who still use the ice cream maker invented by Nancy, even though there are more efficient ice cream machines now. Johnson’s ice cream making method consisted of an outer bucket packed with ice and salt, and a metal container inside to hold milk, sugar, and flavorings.
