You shouldn’t drink alcohol the night prior to vaccination.

While the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) haven’t released a guideline regarding alcohol consumption prior to COVID-19 vaccination, European health experts recommend staying away from alcohol a few days prior to the shot in order to prevent ‘taxing your immune system.’

Even though many studies have shown that only large quantities of alcohol (5 drinks or more) could have an impact on the vaccine’s efficacy, moderate drinking has also been linked to worsening side effects after vaccination, due to hangover and dehydration.
