British actor Idris Elba posted a video on Twitter confirming that he tested positive for COVID-19 on March 16.
“This morning I tested positive for COVID 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing No panic,” the “Thor” actor wrote.
Both Elba and his wife reported having their lives turned around by this virus, even if they showed mild symptoms, they called the experience “definitely scary and unsettling and nervous.”
“You know, everyone’s sort of feeling the way we have been feeling, but it has definitely been sort of just a complete upheaval,” Idris Elba told The Associated Press.
“I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time. Remember each other. I really do,” he added.
Moreover, he advised his followers and fans to wash their hands properly and take into consideration that even if they do not experience any symptoms, they cand still be asymptomatic carriers.
“We live in a divided world right now. We can all feel it. It’s been bulls— but now is the time for solidarity. Now is the time for thinking about each other,” he said, adding, “There are so many people whose lives have been affected — from those who have lost the people that they love to those who don’t even have it and have lost their livelihood. This is real.”

Kristofer Hivju, the “Game of Thrones” and “The Fate of the Furious” actor announced on his Instagram account that he had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 16.
“We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold. There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading,” he wrote.
The 41 years-old GOT actor self-isolated with his family in Norway. He urged his followers to be extremely careful regarding this virus, to wash their hands frequently, keep the 1,5 meters distance from others and do everything in their powers to stop the spread of the virus.
“We were lucky to only have mild symptoms of the COVID-19. We send our love and thoughts to all of the people where the virus has hit much harder, and to everyone who has lost their loved ones due to the Coronavirus,” Hivju wrote.
“After several weeks in quarantine, and also a couple more indoors after being free of all symptoms, we are finally safe and sound. We were lucky to only have mild symptoms of the COVID 19,” the post continued.
“Thank you for all of your support, and please remember to stay vigilant and keep your distance, wash your hands, and most of all; take care of each other in this strange time.
