Many states are now seeing an improvement in the number of COVID-19 new cases, and after so long, Americans finally feel like the coronavirus pandemic is being left behind. Nationwide, the numbers of COVID-19 new cases, deaths, and hospitalizations have decreased recently, and most states managed to contain their outbreaks.
But that’s not the case for 11 states, where the numbers are still spiking and people should be alarmed. Read on to find out which states are still at risk.
Additionally, Scott Gottlieb, MD, former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said in an appearance on CBS News’ Face the Nation on Sept. 20 that “If you look at what’s happening around the country right now, there’s an unmistakable spike in new infections.” He specifically referred to the number of COVID-19 new cases, saying “There are about 15 states where the positivity rate is 10 percent or higher, which is deeply concerning,” he continued.
