13. Florida

Florida was also among the first states that have identified the new COVID-19 strain from the U.K., the third state to be more precise. Florida’s Department of Health has confirmed on December 31 the first infected patient, a 20-year-old man from Martin County who hasn’t traveled anywhere recently. As data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Florida has now more than 22 patients who tested positive for the new coronavirus variant.

14. California

California entered 2021 with only 6 confirmed cases of the new strain from the U.K., but as the new variant is more contagious than the dominant one, now there are more than 40 cases in the state, as data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows.

The first infected patient with the new COVID-19 strain has been identified in California on December 30. The patient is a 30-year-old man from San Diego County who hadn’t traveled anywhere recently. As data from the Los Angeles Times shows, more than 24 other cases have been confirmed since then in San Diego, and 4 more are suspected. Two people living in the same household in San Bernadino County have also tested positive for the new virus strain, and there’s not enough information for the other 10 cases.

15. Colorado

Colorado was the first state that has identified the new COVID-19 strain from the U.K. in late December. The first patient in the state was a 20-something-year-old man from Elbert County, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The first-ever infected patient with the new strain has not been traveling anywhere recently, which made Gov. Jared Polis believe that he wasn’t the first person from Colorado who contracted the virus. Since then, there have been another 4 cases confirmed in Colorado, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  1. Look up the information on this and leave the Democratic Party out of it. More Republicans spread the virus.
