Per Covid Act Now, West Virginia currently has the highest rate of infection of any state in the U.S. at 1.42, a “critical” number that represents an unprecedented increase in new cases. Anything other than that, the numbers of the state are reasonable, but West Virginia needs more contact tracers to monitor more than 34 percent of new COVID cases. As of July 13, there are a little over 4,240 cases of coronavirus in the state and about 95 deaths.
