His death caused a lot of speculation because even though the official stance indicated that he died because he suffered a heart attack caused by an irregular heartbeat, his fans did not believe this.
There are definitely a lot of theories around his death, and even though some people believed his abuse of prescription drugs contributed to his death, others believe that Elvis never died. In fact, even today, a lot of people believe that Elvis Presley is still alive and living his old-man life away from the public.

All that I know was that I saw Elvis in Baltimore at one of his last concerts.
When he started to perform, it seemed that he had a hard time standing up.
Several times, during his performance, he was almost carried off stage, some other
singers performed. They helped Elvis come back on stage; however, he was off and
on during most of his performance. It was so sad and to have lost a great talent was
really terrible.
