Trouble sleeping.
Another very common side-effect that most patients had experienced after a COVID-19 infection was insomnia. As many studies have revealed, trouble sleeping is a common matter especially for those who were severely ill and managed to recover.
In fact, some people are most likely to experience sleep difficulties for up to 12 months after hospitalization. However, researchers believe this problem tends to improve over time.
But according to noted Rachel Salas, M.D., a sleep neurologist at Johns Hopkins Medicine, not only those who’ve been hospitalized experience trouble sleeping and insomnia.
This side-effect was pretty common among people who had a mild COVID-19 case, as well. Some of them have trouble sleeping at night, while others reported waking up several times during the night, which generally affects the quality of sleep.
Even so, it’s still not clear if this side-effect is caused by the virus, the isolation, and the overall pandemic, or whether it’s physiological.
