Despite his hit “U Can’t Touch This,” MC Hammer filed for bankruptcy.

MC Hammer had a legitimate hit with “U Can’t Touch This” and the rapper soon had $30 million in the bank. Thanks to his success, Hammer bought a $1 million mansion that he made $30 million worth of adjustments to and staffed 200 people in his home. He also bought a horse stable where he kept 19 racehorses.

Combined with his unrestrained spending and numerous lawsuits, Hammer declared bankruptcy in 1996 while he was reportedly $13 million in debt.

In 2011, he went on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to talk about spending most days in California’s Silicon Valley and being “loosely involved with about eight [technology] companies.”

    1. You are so right. It is a fairly new tactic to push us to see more ads. I have written to advertisers and papers who also use this sickening technique. I normally try to avoid theses actions but when I get sucked in, it is never for more than three slides.

  1. I have of this implant. My bones are getting weaker with age. I did not even pay my bill yet and what to do with the orthodontist and the court that decide for to paid the bill because at the time of service I had a fake insurance created by doctors and credit card companies. Any suggestions !

  2. How come no one has problems anymore just “issues,” in this case “money issues?” What a lame word that is for someone 23 mill in debt!

Agreed, in terms of these people being idiots. Handling money properly has to be a second career for all of us. Blowing eight figures over the course of a few years allows them to be correctly defined as idiots, by a factor of 547.

  3. Your treatment of U.S. Grant’s financial troubles suffers from a material omission that unfairly deprives him of recognition for his high personal character. He worked on his autobiography until almost the day he died, burning his candle out, NOT to become rich because he knew all along that he was dying. He did it to provide for his widow! With all the sorry people in the world, should we not make an extra effort to give credit for the noble things done by decent people? [And by the way, Mark Twain’s help in publishing Grant’s autobiography was also a display of deep generosity. He did it to protect Grant from publishers whose greed threatened to steal all Grant’s profits even from his dying venture. Two of the best Americans and best human beings ever…give them a break.]

  4. That’s correct, Robert Shaw. Never let people know how much money/property/stock accounts you have. Especially dangerous is any mention of amounts, like “My NAV is a million.” Whoever heard it will never get it out of their heads and will come up with all sorts of schemes to separate you from your money. Beware of those with whom you have frequent contact, they are most likely to obtain some of your money. Tell them you are leaving it all to the Red Cross. And get umbrella insurance!

  5. Money is a dangerous thing. People have nothing then out of the blue get paid millions to make a movie or sing a song. Wow, they have “friends” now to tell them what they must have plus you feel like it will never run out. Then it does and your friends are gone and your back in Kansas. Money is strange. Some people will se their soul for it while others do good with it. Money will tell you what kind of person you are.

  6. THATS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW. I CLICKED ON ABT THE 20 CELEBRATIES AND THIS “JUNK” CAME ON, WHY IS THAT? I was more interested in the celebs. Jeanne 9/14/20

Losing all your money is difficult. Losing your eternal soul is beyond tragic. I hope these celebrities who are still living, establish a real relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only audience that will matter when you face death.

  8. Why hasn’t IRS sued Al Sharpton, it was public knowledge years ago, now you hear nothing? Was it forgiven?
