Another recent study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) on February 12, has shown that most anaphylactic reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine have been reported in women.

As recent data has shown, there have been 19 rare anaphylactic reactions to Moderna’s vaccine, all reported in women. Additionally, 47 people have had a severe allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine, and 44 of them were women.

But this is not new information, Klein added. In fact, according to a 2019 study published by the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 80 percent of adult anaphylactic reactions to the vaccines between 1990 and 2016 occurred in women.
