The Gold Donut
The world’s most expensive donut, the Golden Cristal Ube, can be found at Manila Social Club Miami Beach and it costs $1,200. A little too much for a donut, don’t you think?
Well, this fancy donut is filled with champagne and has 24-karat gold on top. As written on the Manila Social Club’s website, the donut is made with a “naturally purple sweet yam found in the Philippines.”
Additionally, there’s a very generous amount of Cristal champagne in both the icing and the dough, a champagne worth around $200 per bottle.
“A lot of people, when they eat this doughnut, say ‘Oh, that’s rich,’” Bjorn DelaCruz, chef of the Manila Social Club tells “Secret Lives of the Super Rich.” “Usually I tell them, ‘No, it’s wealthy.’”
