When you crack the shell of locals-only social groups-there is an endless amount of communal support waiting for you. Hana Pevny moved from Austin, Texas, to Kennebunk, Maine, after buying a business there. “One of the most positive things about moving to a small, seasonal community was the support I’ve gotten from other business owners,” she said, adding that she feels a sense of mutual solidarity and acceptance as opposed to the dog-eat-dog world of metropolises.

i’ve lived in the rio grande valley, texas. its hot as blazes, but its very cheap to live here. san benito is 35,000 people and that’s big enough for me. of course there very little opportunity here, but i’m retired and can’t afford to live anywhere else. so i guess this is where i’m going to die. every place has its pluses and minuses……….there is no utopia……….bummer!
