Ice pops were invented by an 11-year-old by accident
In 1905, an 11-year-old boy, named Frank Epperson, left soda powder and water in a cup, with a wooden stirrer in it outside overnight. Due to the chilly nighttime weather, the mixture has frozen, and this is how the Epsicle was invented.
He sold them to all of his neighbors and around an amusement park, and even personalized the recipe. More years later, he changed the name to Popsicle, because the kids used to call them this way.
