Proudly standing near J. F. Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi is probably the most representative figure in the US. Pelosi comes from a strong family tradition of public service. Her father and her brother both served as Mayors of Baltimore, so she couldn’t deviate from this path. Despite the fact that her mother wanted her to become a nun, life had other plans. She started her career in the 70’s, and in 1976 she was elected as a member of the Democratic National Committee. In 2007, she was elected the first woman to serve as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
She has always fought for human rights, and in 2009 she cut taxes for 95% of working Americans and saved many American jobs. A true patriot!
