Massachusetts
ABC News got their hands on a leaked document from the coronavirus task force dated November 29th saying that Massachusetts is making a huge mistake by choosing to implement restrictions in certain areas instead of enforcing rules in the entire state.
“Consider rolling back a step in the state reopening plan as a whole and not just in high-risk areas,” the officials explained, warning that “restricting certain activities in some areas may encourage movement and potential spread to surrounding ‘non-high-risk’ communities.”
However, the leaked document wasn’t all bad. In fact, the coronavirus task force did compliment the Bay State for seeing some results in their intent to stop the spread of the virus. They were probably referring to Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker implementing on November 3rd a state mask mandate, curfews between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and earlier closing hours for restaurants, gyms, and theaters. In Massachusetts, bars are still closed due to a previous order.
However, Gov. Charlie Baker said on Dec. 1 that his administration “is not planning any additional closures or restrictions.” Unfortunately, things will have to change and new restrictions are needed in the Bay State, as it registered more than 6,400 new daily cases on Dec. 3, the highest number since the start of the pandemic, as data from the state’s health department showed.
But Massachusetts isn’t the only state that’s currently in a critical situation. Read on to discover what states might be shutting down again!
