California Gov. Gavin Newsom talked about another potential lockdown in the state on Nov. 30, followed by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti asking people to cancel their plans and issuing stay-at-home orders as of Dec. 2.
Therefore, Los Angeles residents are asked to stay at home, people are working remotely again and public/private gatherings are banned in the city.
According to Mayor Eric Garcetti, “If cases continue on this pathway, if they continue to increase at the pace that we’ve seen, the county expects that we will run out of hospital beds here in Los Angeles by Christmas time.”
He added that the public health condition in San Francisco is as bad as it was back in spring, or even worse. Therefore, even if San Francisco residents do not like these measures, they are very needed in order to stop the spread of the virus.
