If you had the impression the human body had finished evolving, then think again. It appears that some people have a bone called a fabella in their knee. And while this unique little bone with an unclear purpose was once fading away, over the last century and a half, it’s become more common.
Around 18 percent of people examined had a fabella back in 1875. By 1918, that number dropped to 11 percent. By 2018, 39 percent of people had this strange bone.

Take a closer look the next time you see a can of Pringles because you won’t see the word “chip” anywhere on the packaging. That’s because Pringles are made from dehydrated potato flakes pressed into their signature parabolic shape instead of thinly sliced potatoes.
And that’s what makes them less greasy. But after other producers of potato chips complained, the Food and Drug Administration ruled that Pringles should not be commercialized as chips. In the end, the company settled on “potato crisp.”
