See which states are going through the worst outbreak right now.
Now that we’ve talked about the three states that are doing very well right now and are keeping the numbers under control, the rest of the states are not exactly in the best situation. 47 states are seeing a very different face of the virus, some areas being most at risk than others.
South Dakota and Minnesota still struggle a lot, recording the highest number of cases in the Midwest, with an average of 100.2 and 104.8 new infections per 100,000 people. Additionally, the situation in Alaska is not very pretty either. The state has recorded the highest number of infections, with 172.6 cases per 100,000 residents a week. As a result, health officials in Anchorage, the largest city in the state, have issued a ‘hunker down’ order, meaning that bars and restaurants will be closed until the end of the year.
