#Skip: Avoid dining indoors.
We’ve previously mentioned that you can safely dine outside without any problems, but it’s important to understand that eating indoors is not recommended in the context of a pandemic like COVID-19, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. When eating inside in a restaurant, you’re forced to take your mask off, and the enclosed space, the crowd, and poor ventilation can contribute to the rapid spread of the virus.
#Skip: Maybe it’s not the time to go on a first date.
We get it, being single in quarantine is not quite ideal, and the pandemic definitely makes it very hard to get out there and find a partner. Even if you might be interested in coupling up before a second lockdown, according to New York City council member and health chair Mark Levine, meeting new people is considered a high-risk activity.
“An outdoor, socially-distanced date is relatively safe,” Levine pointed out in a graphic meant to help people understand the risks in a coronavirus pandemic, “but advancing to intimate contact carries real risk.”
However, if you still want to go out on a date with someone new, make sure to go somewhere in nature and try to avoid physical contact and keep your distance if you want to stay safe.
