Kamala Harris was good friends with Beau Biden.
Years before Kamala Harris became vice president of the United States under the Biden administration, she was very good friends with the current president’s son, Beau Biden. Beau died in 2015 of brain cancer.
However, they used to be very good friends for a lot of years. The two met while Harris was California’s Attorney General, and Beau was in the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps from Wilmington, Delaware.
Even though their relationship was strictly professional at first, working together during the Great Recession of 2008 and the 2011 housing crisis, the two became friends very quickly.
As she mentioned in her 2020 speech, she figured out pretty quickly that Beau was the kind of man that really inspired people to be the best version of themselves.
“He really was the best of us. And when I would ask him, ‘Where’d you get that, where’d this come from?’ he always talked about his dad,” Harris added.
