Kamala Harris was the first woman District Attorney in San Francisco’s history from 2004 to 2010. According to the state’s Department of Justice, she’s also the first African American woman and South Asian American woman in California to hold the office.
After her two terms were complete, Kamala Harris was also elected as the first African American and the first woman to serve as California’s Attorney General. Impressive right?
