1. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson were quarantined in Australia, after contracting the virus while filming for the production of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic.

“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” he wrote on Instagram.

Hanks added, “Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!”

According to Warner Bros, the company distributing the movie, Hanks and Wilson become infected after visiting popular tourist attractions in Australia.

“We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world. The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment.”

2. Rudy Gobert

After Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive to the virus, the NBA suspended its season. Gobert was reportedly in Oklahoma City at that time, but he wasn’t present at the arena for the game.

“The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as a way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus,” Gobert said on an Instagram post.

Both teams were quarantined in Chesapeake Energy Arena, however, Utah Jazz players remained there a little longer, until they received the test results. Moreover, since Jazz’s players got in contact with other players and teams from the NBA, 20% of NBA players were forced to quarantine.

In a statement, “The NBA announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for the COVID-19. The test result was reported shortly prior to the tip-off of tonight’s game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. At that time, tonight’s game was canceled. The affected player was not in the arena. The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice. The NBA will use this hiatus to determine the next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”

Also, a lot of controversy sparked around Gorbet’s diagnosis after a video with him mocking the virus by touching several microphones at a press conference was made public. Even more, his fellow colleagues described him as being “careless in the locker room” and reportedly “touching other players and their belongings” before finding that he has COVID-19.
