AstraZeneca’s clinical trial results have been revealed on Monday.
On Monday, March 22, AstraZeneca revealed the results of its U.S. trial. 32,449 participated in the vaccine trial, and two-thirds of those people have received the second vaccine dose after a four-week period.
The trial’s findings have shown that the AstraZeneca vaccine is 100 percent effective against hospitalizations and severe COVID-19 cases, and 79 percent effective at keeping COVID-19 symptoms at bay.
According to Ann Falsey, MD, a professor of medicine and co-lead principal investigator for the trials, “This analysis validates the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine as a much-needed additional vaccination option, offering confidence that adults of all ages can benefit from protection against the virus.”
